About PlanningLedger

PlanningLedger exists to make UK planning intelligence radically accessible. Planning data is public, but it is scattered across hundreds of council portals, buried in PDFs, and inconsistent from one borough to the next. We collect it, normalise it, and compute decision-ready statistics and reports from it.

Everything we publish is computed from official sources — statutory planning registers, national constraint datasets and adopted planning policy — and every figure carries its computation date and coverage. When the data can't support a number, we say so instead of publishing it. The methodology page explains exactly how each statistic is produced.

The same data engine powers our address constraint reports, the borough statistics hubs and league tables, and the Weekly Approvals Digest newsletter.

PlanningLedger is built and operated in the UK/EU; all data processing happens in-region. Contact: [email protected].
